Step one on the Illegal migrant trail
This camp is the largest one in the region and is the one that most visit, it Is located just off the main road and is spread over a large area which I have highlighted I the map below.
WARNING: Visit this location at you’re own risk and be aware that these people do NOT like cameras and will be extremely resistant to whoever they see as intruders and don’t be fooled that the charity workers offer you some sort of protection, the do NOT.
The camp has a flat open area with basic amenities such as portaloos, showers made from large water tanks and one water main. There is a makeshift market that sells some basics and also the well documented lifejackets at a mark up profit.
The smugglers run this camp, do not be under any illusions otherwise
There is nowhere to safely park nearby and in my opinion walking around openly is not advisable
Charity workers are here normally from 10.00am to 1pm approximately and if you are wanting to document with some safety then this in my opinion is the time to go.
Parking is the issue, I would advise parking on the main charity area on the right of the two yellow sections but this changes as and when evictions take place. I would NOT leave the car un attended and certainly not try this at night
This camp is run by the smugglers and its big business, interfeare with this at your own risk.
The camp is located a 20 minute walk from the Loon Plage bus stop which is one of the next stops on this trail

There is two ways to then track the illegals from the camp, option one is Loon Plage Bus stop and best to go after midday as they will be making their way to the bus stop for the trip to the coast in the afternoon and to camp out overnight to then attempt a crossing the next day
